ATFT is a foundation (currently 501c3 in registration) dedicated to empowering children in rural Africa with vital tech skills. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by establishing computer labs and providing digital tools to ensure no child is left behind in the AI era.

ATFT was founded by Maggie Ngugi, whose journey from Nairobi to Silicon Valley inspired her to address the stark digital divide in rural Kenya. The foundation was officially launched in July 2025 during the “Trek for Tech” climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which served as a fundraiser for the first computer lab and a metaphor for reaching new heights in African technology education.
